Mgrene
Hello All. This gauge is driving me crazy! A while back it started freezing when I started up the car, got that sorted but now it does this. WTF!? Normally it shows the digitgs in 00.0 and not 0.00 After a few miles drive it goes back to normal mode again. Any of you who know why it does that. Haven't done that since I bought the car a year ago.
np89
looks like its reading in lambda?
Mgrene
looks like its reading in lambda? And that means?
np89
its another way of reading afr, values between 0 and 1 usually. google it!
Tricky-Ricky
Its a wide-band so surely it should read 0 to 5 volts if it was reading lambda voltage, are you sure you haven't inadvertently set it to read another fuel type?
np89
is there not a switch on the back of them to change it? Maybe its stuck between settings and thats what is making it change between each mode of operation

Haven't touched anything. It just started doing this when I fired up the car today. And then after a while it goes back to normal reading. Maybe a new sensor or gauge is the answer :-(
Mgrene
Yup, it is reading Lambda value instead of showing the normal A/F ratio. Now the question is why and how can I change it back?
bignum
Sounds like your rotary calibration switch is in the wrong position or inbetween positions, see here, http://www.aemelectronics.com/Images/Products/Installation%20Instructions%2030-4100.pdf

Just strange that the switch has moved itself. I will try and dismantle the gauge from the dash panels and see if I can move the switch back to its original position.
