Delboy52
Without having an open gear box to examine, can anyone describe or even better provide a video of what the auto shifter underneath the gearstick physically moves in the gearbox when changing between Park, Drive, Reverse etc. So I can have a better understanding of how it works and to maybe get my Supra working again.. Kaan W
I think its done electronicly through the gear select control box on the side of the transmission which the linkage joins to. Each position gives signals to the numerous solenoids inside the transmission to select different gears.
Delboy52
There is that long metal arm with a bolt hole that moves something on the side of the transmission. Could those solenoids be triggered electronically perhaps, without the need for the lever to shift something into place?
David P
Not a lot that can be seen, it simply moves a piston that redirects fluid. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?233707-Project-Supracharger&p=3080115&viewfull=1#post3080115
