dazla100
I had a go at getting a price with sky insurance which they managed to do me a fairly respectable price of £700 full comp on my 3ltr JZ import even with the club discount. As I continued to shop around I come across a company called flux direct who unbelievably quoted me £350 a year for fully comp insurance with all add ons break down window cover etc I could not recommend this insurance company enough. I spoke to a extremely polite chap called Ryan and mentioned about the mkiv supra club which gave me a massive discount I'm 25 years old and have 3 points on my license. And they still tailored a quote for myself. I REALLY recommend trying this company when you next renew as I think you may be in for a suprise. skippyboyo1
I'm with Adrian flux also! Sky was no where even close when I tried them. Sky's main draw back is you can't drive other cars on their policy's which makes them unable in my eyes to be comparable.
DodgyRog
I would ring them back and ask them to go through the quote again Make sure they are quoting on a MkIV Supra, not MkIII, make sure it is a Import not UK Spec You would think all of the above would be double checked before giving a quote, but over the years, it has been seen on here a lot Not trying to burst your bubble, but this has happened many times before and from memory Adrian Flux have been mentioned before for it Make sure everything is 100% correct before handing over any money, as getting it back after is a nightmare Edited May 3, 2014 by DodgyRog (see edit history)

Are you sure Adrian flux is the same as flux direct cause I'm under the impression that there two completely different insurance brokers sky insurance wasnt hardly any help at all we went over the details over and over and they couldn't get any lower that £700 a year which was a bit disappointing flux direct even said that they specialise in these types of cars and they would be interested in setting somthing up with the club. Abz
These cars are pretty cheap to insure anyway, I'd double check though as Rog has mentioned. Sky are pretty good but they only knock down the price once they have proof of what is the lowest quote you can get, then they do beat it marginally. Renewal time though expect the price to rocket through and you'll have to go through the whole saga again.
jazz1
Graham Sykes renewal time have always been cheaper I have never been so happy with insurance.

Personally I feel that sky should be giving us there best quote regardless of what other insurance brokers have quoted us just seems like they try and squeeze as much as they can out of you without actually trying to sort you out a good deal. DodgyRog
Have you checked the details of your quote yet dazla, just seems very cheap, unless you have it on very limited mileage or named drivers etc

dazla100
+1 Have you checked the details of your quote yet dazla, just seems very cheap, unless you have it on very limited mileage or named drivers etc Yeah I checked it over and over as I was pretty shocked at the price I claimed to do 4'000 miles a year and a car value of £3,500. I also told them I have a work vehicle which I'm allowed to use for private use which may have knocked it down more. But I have them the exact info as I gave to sky they just came out on top. Purity14
I wouldn't say 350 is cheap, loads of people on the forum over the age of 25 have had cheaper. Personally £277 is my cheapest. Raven on the forum got £192 i believe, Havard also had a cheap quote with agreed value I believe. But if you think £350 is cheap then good on you Id say the £400 mark was about average.. dazla100
Also the other strange thing is that I never carried over my 5years no claims on my company car so the policy has 0 years no claims

DodgyRog
I would say the quote is about right, now you have mentioned the limited mileage Admittedly I am a bit older than you:innocent: but mine is £300 with £10k agreed value 5k miles, 2 drivers and every Mod declared, including all custom bodywork, o and European cover for Dragonball That is with LWIB

charlton
I'm not sure everyone understands insurance and how businesses work... When I spoke to Sky I said to them a price cheaper than my renewal and said that all I am going to do is call Adrian Flux who would beat it and that I'd call them back and Sky would beat it - so they put me on hold and said yeah they'd do the price I said. Can't argue with that really

Sorry, sarcasm over the forum is sometimes lost. The fact that they are both insurance company and the word "Flux" is not exactly common, unless you are a plumber or time traveller. This would have led me to believe they were linked. H.
