What's my problem

Your car is fitted with a limiter that recognised you were at 70, it engaged to prevent you speeding.

I was about to say is it an auto, then I seen you were in 5th, so I have nothing to say apart from the voodoo gizmo thingy I mentioned above.

Sounds like the clutch is slipping, generally the symptoms are what you are describing where the revs raise but you don't actually get a speed increase. How old is the clutch? Is the biting point low? Have you smelt clutch burn before?

Don't overtake in 5th

I think at 70, I would have been dropping back in 4th iirc. It is a while since I had my NA 5 speed though but I remember having to thrash it to get anywhere.

Clutch is an easy fix. Problem is, it won't be much quicker when fixed.

I don't mind haters we all have to start off some where and just getting the supra with a manual box made me happy it turns heads every where it goes and as a daily driver it's great on fuel and enjoyment.

If I had the time money etc I would get a twin turbo then out loads of money in to it get lots of power but I just done have that.
