Noz
Has anyone converted an R154 from pull to push? I can't disengage the clutch. I'm going down the garage weekend to see what the issue is. I've a feeling it's a fairly obvious problem. Can anyone point me in the direct to find a converter? I can't find one anywhere. Seriously getting to the end of my efforts with this R154 now. 6 week's been trying to install it.
pedrosixfour
Why convert it from pull to push in the first place, is there an advantage? I thought pull type clutches generally benefitted from more clamping force by design. Sorry Noz, I know none of that is of any help mate, I'm just curious about all the extra work and what it achieves.
Noz
I spoke to someone earlier and they said that push clutches can hold more than pull types, thus the common swap over to allow for higher power. Pull types don't allow as much power from what I've found. This particular box had a Giken clutch, and the same push kit. So swapping the clutch should of been a simple swap. I won't know exactly what's going on till I get down there. The guys wife talked to me on the phone, and was lacking in terminology to say the least. Noz
Not got the equipment to do it. I don't have ramps and im not familiar with it enough to want to try it on my drive. I've found the issue. The clutch is a pull. Box is setup to be a push. Hopefully ordering all new clutch fork assembly components oem style will resolve the issue.
