Na-t oil pan removal. Need help!

hi guys,

been browsing on the forum for a while stealing info, thought its about time I get on here. Ive just started doing a Na-t conversion (will be posting pics when I get a chance).

Im gonna start on the oil drain tomorrow and will be removing the sump. Does anyone know if I have to remove the lower oil pan also in order to remove the upper cast oil pan? Was told that there might be bolts inside the lower oil pan holding the upper pan as well.

Also after supporting the engine is it just the sub frame which needs to be lowered? All help is appreciated.

Cheers guys.

There are indeed bolts inside the no.2 oil pan which need to be removed to remove the no.1 pan.

You'll also need to remove the oil level switch, baffle plate and the oil strainer.

It's an easy job though mate. Any help you need, give me a shout, but it is all detailed in the TSRM.

Here are some photos of mine with the no.2 pan off and then with the baffle plate and the strainer out. In the third photo you can see the bolts which you need to remove to remove the no.1 oil pan.

What sealant will you be using to reseal the pans back on?

As a tip, remove as much of the old sealant from the pan's as possible then follow the sealing diagram in the TSRM.
