WaLKeRR Posted April 22, 2014 Share Posted April 22, 2014 As title says, have the turbo seals gone, (xs t61 yeah i know..) so recently the car has decided to ploom a bit of smoke out on idle and after you put your foot down and come to the lights, i pulled the air filter off the front of the turbo and there is oil on the silicone another indication turbo seal has gone anyone confirm this please? Guest crystal Posted April 23, 2014 Share Posted April 23, 2014 usually the oil seals are like piston rings on the shaft, so when people say the seals have gone it generally means that there's play in the bearing and thats where the oil leaks from. http://dailydigitaldeals.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/11/20/buy.gif Check the play at the compressor end first by hand before trying to remove it because it looks like an absolute of a job to do in situ to me.
