SupraP-Z
Morning all, A few q's about the oil drain line. Is there a way of just dropping the sump instead of pulling the whole engine? Secondly what size hole needs to be drilled into the sump for the oil drain line? Last one about the oil feed - I have a sandwich plate, i wont be needing the lexus union bolt for the oil feed will I? Thanks Edited April 22, 2014 by SupraP-Z (see edit history)
Paul-90
I think you can drop the subframe however i pulled the engine out because its easier to work at to fit oil lines etc. I used the lexus union bolt and im using my sandwich plate for my oil cooler. Rich.2211
Sandwich plate or Lexus Union bolt, not both Personally, I would advise the sandwich plate.
bambisdad
The fitting engineers dropped the subframe to remove mine. They didn't find it too bad. Not sure about the drill size though. I have heard of some cowboys drilling the oil pan in situ. This is a VERY bad idea!
