monkey76364
Well the new project supra is an auto but only seems to have one gear so very slow pull away but does have top end. There is no kick down at all or gear change... Before the box gets ripped out and a new one put in, as this is how it seems to have been built/set up, what can we look for to see that it isn't the gear box? And Ecu wires ect that we can plug back in... Any help would be nice
Chris88
Sounds like a shift solenoid failure which has caused the box to go into "Limp Home" mode.
Swampy442
It won't have been built that way, theres 4 solenoids in the box controlling the selection of the gears, and the ECU, in conjunction with the gear stick/steering wheel buttons, controls the selection of those. Id say its an ECU before its the box, they are generally very reliable.

Swampy442
Oh, just one thing, if its an NA it will have 3 solenoids and the line pressure cable attached to the throttle body.

Is there any obvious things I may have missed ?

monkey76364
I have just had a mail from the people that sold it to say they previous owner had it set to run in manual change mode, normally used as overdrive function. Does this mean that there will be something unplugged and if so where? Or an ECU map?
