Bobbeh
Im sure many of you are aware about the industrial action that BA are experiencing currently or have been at least, well I got my compensation from them after being affected by it about 2 weeks ago coming back from New York. So, after a 3 hour delay to my outgoing flight on the Friday night and a my flight back on the sunday a week later which was cancelled (after they rang me up the night before to confirm I was still going), then the evening flight I was booked in on the Sunday that was delyaed for 5 hours with no food on board I got... a £25 BA sales voucher!!!! "I hope you'll choose to fly with us again"
Lizzeh
That is buuuuuuuuullshiet! Seriously. At the very least when I had a 5 hour delay with American Airlines going to Texas I got 8000 flyer miles! That's worth more than a stupid $25/£25 voucher! You should really complain. MARTIN R
They may as well offered you nothing, thats bloody insulting
Bobbeh
It seems to me that this is just a token offer due to the lack of food on the flight rather than the shenanigans of the cancellations and delays which they are convinently trying to sweep under the carpet. Timwildman
I'm sure under new EU rules your allowed a fixed amount of compensation. But you have to ask for it. The rule applies to all flights finishing or starting in the European union.

Bobbeh
Thanks for the link, but this only apply to all flights within the EU? I mean mine was coming from the US remember so would that be out of the scope of these rules?

The airline I work for only fly long haul, and i'm sure we have to offer this compensation on all of our flights. I'll look in to it when i'm back at work. But it does say if the delay is out of the airlines control, you may get nout, but they will look at it case by case. worht a try.
Bobbeh
Yeah thats true. I'm defineately complaing, the strikers did not affect the 8+ hours worth of delays I had to endure on both flights. I couldnt care less about the lack of food, cos the 1am return flight just made me sleep throughout it.

mkirby
We went on our hols to the dominican in june and had a terrible time, the food was crap, there was nothing for our child to do even though there was meant to be a kids club etc, the rooms were crap and at the weekends the hotel got invaded by locals and all i could do to describe them is animals!! So we were counting the days down till we flew back, i mean my wife was so upset that she tried to get a flight back after 3 days!! Wrote into First Choice and got a response 8 weeks later saying "sorry you had a bad holiday experience, different countries prepare foods differently so this may be why you didnt find the food upto standard. Its a shame when people cant behave themselves when they visit the resort. We are sorry again but hope you enjoy your next holiday with first choice" WTF i wanted my money back and i got that Camping in th lakes for me from now on
