Does any one know this car?

 

 

 

We just bought it as a project car and wanted to see if anyone on here knows anything about it. We were told it was used to do a top speed run?

 

It's an auto TT Jspec.... But the main question is, if you know it, who built the auto box? It pulls away so slow but and has just the one gear in drive, I assume this is to get a good high speed but it's no good for driving around town. What mod would they have done to make it run like this and apart from putting a new box in is there a quick way to sort it?
