Tommyd16
My power steering cooler has rusted away and now started leaking quite badly. Can I by pass it until I get a new cooler by connecting the pipe that runs parallel to the rad, behind the radiator to the power steering reservoir?? Tommyd16
Cheers now to try and figure out how to not get oil all over the drive lol
Chris Wilson
For sure you can do that. If you have a manual gearbox an elegant way of having an unobtrusive and very efficient PAS cooler is to use the rad from an auto TT and use the redundant auto box cooler pipe stubs in the bottom rad tank as the PAS cooler. Or use the rad auto cooler element for the PAS and a bigger oil to air heat exchanger for the auto box if you have an automatic transmission. As for not getting oil on the drive you are asking a highly technical question. You may have to do something bizarre like doing the pipe bypass on a different, none critical surface, or even using a high tech bit of gear like this, on the driveway: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-Plastic-Rectangular-Washing-Up-Bowl-available-in-four-colours-/160999919625?pt=UK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA&var=&hash=item257c57d009 Edited April 14, 2014 by Chris Wilson (see edit history)

sideexitsupra
Might be plenty of people who have put front mount intercooler a on that might have a stock cooler pipe sitting around. Post a wanted thread in the for sale section and see what turns up locally.
Tommyd16
Sorry Chris just re read your post and that sounds like a good idea as I was going to get a cooler for the auto box. Thanks for the suggestion
