v6shep
Hiya guys, at the mo while supra is being done, I'm driving around in my runaround st202 Celica, which, recently had another engine fitted. At first it had no power really and just drove around farting, I replaced the plugs which seemed to resolve the issue.... For a month, now it's started again! The issues I'm having, are hugely over fuelling and hardly any power at all, irratic idling, when cold it's running at correct rpm, when warm, almost 1500 rpm. And (not constantly, just whenever it wants) starts farting and rough as hell from a set off giving minimal power Any help would be received gratefully Only answers I've been given from a few people was it could be the O2 sensor Many thanks, shaun

v6shep
I thought the maf was the O2 sensor?
Dan_Turism0
seen this a few times on ST202's, does it have an after market induction kit?

Swampy442
I thought the maf was the O2 sensor? MAF = Mass Air Flowmeter. O2 sensor = O2 sensor
v6shep
Right..... O2 is the one in the zaust? Maf is in the filter pipe? Told u I'm mechanically illiterate

v6shep
Well today things got worse! It is now backfiring in idle and when attempting to drive is not firing on all cylinders. Loss of most of its power and a dash light came on, which I believe to possibly be the cat temp light

Dan_Turism0
a common fault on the 3S engines is rocker cover seals, mine is leaking causing oil to rot the ht leads which is giving poor spark and before i changed the leads the car struggled starting or idling. When you replaced the plugs did you notice any oil around the old plugs?
v6shep
No mate dry as a bone, it's also smelling a lot from back end
v6shep
Definitely no leaks mate and the cat temp light was a new thing today
Swampy442
I think its an ignition fault/timing issue. The cat overheat light means unburnt fuel is igniting in the cat. Check all your HT leads, LT leads, timing, distributor cap and rotor arm.
