marc_p
I'm not a guru when it comes to electrics, but in short, spoke to the mapper and they have suggested it would be better to control boost through the Motec ECU rather than the HKS EVC-S. So what do I need to buy to do this? Also, will I need a 3 bar map sensor to replace the OEM one? Thanks Marc
Nodalmighty
A 10k pot + Knob (Maplin circa £5) and a boost solenoid (Mac Valve Circa £35) from my limited MoTec experience of the M4 and M48 units. M100 series might have something more fancy though. I might have a 3 Bar GM sensor kicking about. Lyndon.
marc_p
Thanks for the info, appreciated. The ECU is a Motec M600, if you have a MAP sensor, it would be really appreciated and I can PayPal you straight away. Is the GM map sensor a direct replacement to OEM? Sorry, one last noob question, can the HKS solenoid be used? Or is that a resounding no?
marc_p
Would this be ok for the 10k pot? http://bit.ly/1kNETcX
Nodalmighty
No, the GM sensor requires a new plug which I should also have. The HKS boost valves, for experience, seem to be Linear proportioning rather than pulse width modulated solenoids. MoTec being MoTec may support this but I doubt it. Lyndon. marc_p
Like this for the solenoid? http://bit.ly/1lSULz2 If so I'll order it now along with the 10k pots I posted earlier.

marc_p
Thanks, ordered the 10k pot and the solenoid If you could have a look and see if you have the map sensor and connector, it would be much appreciated.
Chris Wilson
I should have a new 3 bar map sensor and solenoid, only just seen this, sorry. If your laptop has a proper true parallel (printer) port you should be able to access the ecu with the much cheaper parallel to ecu cable, and not need the expensive CAN to USB lead. I may have a lead I would sell. http://www.motec.com/commscables/commcan/ Part # 61021 Edited April 11, 2014 by Chris Wilson (see edit history)
Guest crystal
That is fairly an open ended question. What there is, is that the MoTeC ecu hase a Boost control Feature built in that can be leveraged when you assign one of the Aux output to Function: 1 (Boost Control). How you do the Boost control at that point is tied to what you will use for boost controlling (ie Just MAP, or Map vs Ground Speed etc).http://dailydigitaldeals.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/11/20/buy.gif
