Josh
Since changing gearbox oil to Motul Gear 300, cold gear changes are harder. Once warm they're smoother than ever and make the car a joy to drive. I've noticed that when the clutch is depressed enough to change gear, it's hard to change unless the clutch is all the way to the floor, which requires a lot of pressure and squashing my shoe. It does change pushing it down far enough, but that extra 10mm makes a difference in how easy it is to change. Not wanting to damage the gearbox, I've started changing gear by putting the clutch all the way down, which adds time and effort to the gear change. Can the clutch/pedal be adjusted so the bite point is higher to make it easier to change gear? I'm sure I've read on here before that it can be, but I can't find the thread. Josh
Just spotted this post; You can adjust the clutch pedal by undoing the nut and rotating the bar above the pedal. If its been fine for many miles though this may just be a short term fix. How long has the clutch been fitted for? I'll try that later. Has anyone has anything like this before, and would that adjustment solve the issue?
Josh
For anyone interested, this thread seems to offer a solution http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?44729-Supra-Clutches-can-you-alter-the-biting-point/page2&highlight=clutch+pedal+adjustment
