Any noticeable problems while driving it Paul? No misfires or lumpy idle in traffic or anything? Does seem a strange one! IACV maybe?

My first thought was starter motor getting a little worn but doesn't look like it from the vid. Might be worth the £20 for a refurb kit though....

exactly that the stock o2 sensor is not heating ( probably because the engine is hot ) but still swinging you lean , thats why you have to rev to get it to go back to normal ,as this heats the sensor to the correct temp,

it maybe on its way out well the heating part anyway, it could even be the ecu temp sensor if thats what contols the pre heating of the o2 sensor

What happens if you turn the ignition and wait for a few seconds then start?

I can't remember the setup on twins but on the single I need to wait a few seconds for the fuel pressure to build.

Care to try some different scenarios and give feedback?

Cold start, turn off start again when still cold.

run up to temp, off then on again quickly like in the vid

Up to temp and wait a couple of mins etc etc

done crank sensor forgot to mention. gonna do ecu temp switch and also compare ohms reading from the 2.. compression test also good readings all around 160psi

fault expanded.

cold start always fine, hot start if you wait 5mins - 30mins or try straight away its the same. still seems lean/lumpy until i apply throttle and rev above 1000rpm then picks up, only when right down on temp gauge springs to life 1st turn

fuel info.

fuel line looks like it had a single on it, larger line fitted from tank would that cause it?? more pressure needed due to larger line?? but would be hot and cold surely

Have you changed the temp sensor yet?

The ECU will change the fueling dependant on the temp but more fuel for a cold start so think this is probably not the cause.

Worth a shot if not expensive, alternatively you could test the sensor.

What happens if you keep on cranking without touching the throttle?

Have you checked Ian C's thread to see if symptoms are similar?

No harm in checking the timing. Assume it has standard cam gears?

not seen ian thread.. and done the temp sensor seems tobe better but not fixed i will see how it goes when i get bonnet back and can use it more

2.2 ohms on cold engine, but not checked when hot, will stick it in some hot water to get the ohms readings when hot. i will return.........
