Chris Wilson
I have an engine here that came in pieces, a VVTi TT. The two banjo bolts for the oil pipe to feed the cam control solenoid are, and should be, different. On has a restrictor and one way valve in it, and is longer. the other shorter one has no gubbins inside, just a plain 16mm banjo bolt. Now, this engine has come with the plain one in the solenoid valve, and the valved one loose in a box. the parts list shows the valved banjo bolt as going in the control solenoid, and the plain one in the block casting hole. I do not have a VVTi car here to look at. Does anyone know which end of the pipe the valved banjo fitting is, originally? Also, the plain banjo bolt, the one with no valve, has been ground down to make the hex part very thin, possibly to clear something. I need to speak to Brazil as to why this may be. Box of Bits jobs are fraught with danger
Chris Wilson
OK, answering my own post is bad form I know, but I have just spotted something. On the parts diagram what I assumed to be the one way valve adjacent to the top banjo is in fact listed as a filter. This is not in my "box of bits", and is missing from the top banjo. It seems the bottom banjo is pre assembled and has the one way valve and restrictor within it, and therefore not visible on the diagram, or available separately. Seems I need to get a 90401-16036 and a new 15678-4601 unless Brazil knows a good reason for this ground down one being required?
Brazil
Good work Chris, I will try to investigate further but the problem may well be bits lost since there has been 2 different people pull my head an put together since I started this project.
