Rob_Mitchell
Not updated in ages. I was going to drop a V8 into the new DAW car but things have changed and i personally think a mint TT BPU is a great "overal" car. Dont get me wrong the single i had and also the big twins gave me stupid ammounts of fun BUT i never used it much. SO.... i have just bought a TT conversion with hybrid turbos and i plan on running this on a 5 speed manual box , should feel very rapid indeed and will give a nice bit of fun. big thanks to Lee at SRD and simon (bignum) let the build start lol.......... nice to be back again

Rob_Mitchell
Have a W58, not sure if it will last long though?
j_jza80
I would seriously recommend NOT using a W58. You'll soon get sick of the car if you're worrying about breaking the gearbox whenever you drive it. I'd have a stock TT autobox over a W58 any day, W58 is no good for anything over stock TT torque IMO.
Rob_Mitchell
I can go auto if needed. I'll see what happens with the W58 lol won't take 10mins to change the boxes
skippyboyo1
Must not rant about auto. Welcome back to the expensive slippery slope Rob mate
mattdavies
For BPU an auto feel awesome, and if you want to improve it then a set of flappy paddles would transform it for back lane hacking
Hitbox Junkie
For BPU an auto feel awesome, and if you want to improve it then a set of flappy paddles would transform it for back lane hacking Are these easy to install/cheap? And if a garage was to do this would it cost throught the roof?

listy
I would seriously recommend NOT using a W58. You'll soon get sick of the car if you're worrying about breaking the gearbox whenever you drive it. I'd have a stock TT autobox over a W58 any day, W58 is no good for anything over stock TT torque IMO. I run a BPU on w58 at 1 bar and have had no problems in the 30 months I've owned it. It all depends on the condition of the box, and how you drive it. Saying that, I don't drive like miss daisy, so I must be a lucky one with a good box. R154 is the best bet. It's my plan for the future, on a small single. I'm not saying it WILL last, but I'm not saying it WONT last. It's a gamble. Worst comes to the worst, kill the box and buy an R154. What is there to lose? Edited April 2, 2014 by listy (see edit history)
Parry_10
Nice one Rob! my old supra was bpu, w58 gearbox, auto diff. It was a good set up and a quick car. My gearbox lasted no problems but I guess it all depends on the condition of the box to start with really.
