Tommyd16
Short between positive and negative terminals on starter motor?
pedrosixfour
Sounds like the solenoid in the starter is stuck or has shorted. See if you can give the starter solenoid body a few taps with something stout (don't smash it to pieces) and try to avoid hitting the connections. Then try reconnecting the battery again. Other than that it could be a faulty key switch but it's unlikely.
Benjy
The starter solenoid has to be stuck, give it a clout and try it again
