rossky
HI all, Newly paid member. Ok so I have a VVTI 99 TT6, pretty standard with a Cat back, so I am obv looking to go BPU. Keep in mind FCD cannot be searched as the word is too short & most of the posts are 6 years old!. Im getting bits of info some relate some dont as mine VVTI jap. I was a GTR owner for years and found them much easier to tune pick parts buy fit remap etc. God trying to get info for the supra is like looking into merky water with so many peoples input an no definitive guide. Now I have to commend the FAQ section , very helpful. Here's my issue, there seems to be so many opinions and no solid answers! Hence im writing like many others before me. I have a Boost controller ready to fit, I must buy a 1 bar RR I believe if i want to get my car to run 1.2 safely. So the FCD, HKS seems to be sh1te so dont want that, Thor & greddy Discontinued, Turbosmart unsure it is compatible? if so is Manual or electronic best? As it looks to be the only option? cant understand why the good one were discontinued! I would prefer to buy new as opposed to secondhand. Would appreciate if tried & tested tuners could apply. Look forward to your reply, Ross
_Shane_
HKS FCD setting 9 does the trick iirc, had the hks on a few of my previous cars and it worked a treat
listy
Who said the HKS FCD was rubbish? The majority of BPU owners on here run the HKS, as mentioned above, on setting 9.
tony tt
I've an HKS fcd for years now and never had an issue with it.
Swampy442
HKS FCDs are perfectly fine, lots of people run them without issue.

rossky
Hi all, Thanks thats great, alot of the posts i had read summed up negative feedback from the hks fcd. So with yer respected opinions i must now find a the elusive fcd! So onto the wanted boards! Ross
rossky
So as said, if anyone has a hks or thor fcd let me know. Plus on the subject am i right to fit the 1 bar rr on the jap model even though i will be fitting a boost controller? Thats what i have read but a 1.2 Rr would make more sense to fit to me as if i restrict flow in the exhaust to one bar and then try raise boost to 1.2 just doesnt make sense. But you guys know better. Maybe i should start a new thred for this.

kitch79
Whifbitz and ebay for a hks Fcd. 125 I think. Prob cheaper on eBay. They can't be bad, as whifbitz sell them in BPU packages.
ScottC
I boost controler can only increase boost.
Krimi
You can do a free FCD, If you have the TTC mod only, and repeat ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE TTC MOD DONE I've done this in my car a year ago and no problems, boosting at 1,3 bar.
rossky
Hi Krimi, what is the TTC Mod? as it cannot be searched on the forum due to it being only 3 letters long, hence why i had to also ask about the FCD, hugely annoying. Thanks all
Mk4Gaz
Look up ttc on Google. True twin conversion
Chris Wilson
It's a means of undoing hundreds of thousands of pounds of Toyota's development work, and the whole ethos of the engine package in a few minutes. Fitting a Morris Marina gearbox and a Triumph Herald differential takes longer and requires more skill

Fitting a Morris Marina gearbox and a Triumph Herald differential takes longer and requires more skill I always felt that the leaf spring across the width of the Herald with the diff precariously hung in the middle was pure genius;)
Krimi
Hi Krimi, what is the TTC Mod? as it cannot be searched on the forum due to it being only 3 letters long, hence why i had to also ask about the FCD, hugely annoying. Thanks all http://mkiv.com/techarticles/ttc/ttc.htm Here you have it! Do this thing without problems, the TTC for me is the best way to improve your stock turbo system after the years of use. As soon as you have this mod done, do the Free FCD mod, and incrase your boost without problems, I do this thing in my Supra a year ago, no knocking or anything strange, only fun with circuit abuse!
