Tyson
Well it's that time of year again and time to look at who can give me the best deal. I'm turning 25 soon so which insurers will now take me : I know all the usual suspects just need the ones who do 25 and over.
Gaz6002
All of them! But I'd be looking for a classic car policy if you can get one.
Purity14
Footman James and Lynbrook have been the best for me.

Does it need to be all stock bodywork, stock engine etc

Jord
What are the conditions for a "classic car" policy? Ie. Does it need to be all stock bodywork, stock engine etc I think it depends who's insuring you. I've heard of policies where the car is limited on miles a year and has to be garaged except at weekends or has to be a second car. I'm quite interested in finding a good classic insurer though, mine is due for renewal soon.

Well mine does limited mileage about 3000 miles a year, it's my second car and when I move into my new house it will be garaged. My intention is to hook the house alarm up to the garage as well. Dnk
Try LWIB Mike Who are you with now and what's their best deal
Tyson
Sky but they haven't issued a renewal price yet as it's a few weeks away. Last year was 450 with the couple of mods declared: HKS BOV, HKS Hi Power and aftermarket headunit so nothing too exciting. I have an at fault claim on my policy too which was about 4 years ago. Purity14
What are the conditions for a "classic car" policy? Ie. Does it need to be all stock bodywork, stock engine etc Must own another vehicle besides the classic car. Car must be over 15 years old. Policyholder must be over 25 (Sometimes 30) Must be garaged. Millage restrictions apply. Footman James accepts motorbikes and company vehicles and vans as "First Vehicle" Lynbrook doesn't accept motorbikes as a "First Vehicle". Policy's are usually between £180 to £400.

Dan_Turism0
Admiral/Elephant/Bell have always been pretty good for me, my 98 JDM import was £550 fully comp when I was
Ric
Admiral/Elephant/Bell have always been pretty good for me, my 98 JDM import was £550 fully comp when I was 26 For a reason. They would have probably paid you out 1-2k in the event of a loss, certainly not the figure you valued the car at.
Dnk
I wouldn't use Admiral/Elephant etc on a car like the supra, good for the regular run of the mill stuff
