Suprash
Prob not too much interest for this, but I'll post it in case someone is searching one day http://www.maverick-motorsports.com/products/jz-vq-transmission-adapter-plate
Chris Wilson
Ali flywheel with steel friction face? Hmmm, don't like that, pity they didn't offer a plain steel one, much more reliable. Looks nicely finished.
Suprash
Looks nicely expensive lol - - - Updated - - - I just thought it more an unusual option using say a 350z gearbox on a 2J
j_jza80
I don't see the point TBH. By the time you've bought the adapter, the transmission, and all the ancillary parts, you could have bought a V160.
Chris Wilson
That's very true, these adaptor plates are just a small part of the package needed. Unless you need a specific transmission (like the sequential Traktive I wanted to mate to my RB26DETT engine in my GTS-t), it rarely works out cost effective. I also somehow doubt the torque handling ability of the 350Z box is up to turbo torque, although it may well be a bit stronger and a lot nicer than the OE boxes. ManwithSupra
I can only see it being an option once the V160/161 supply dries up or gets even more expensive the rarer they get, However as Chris as said how will they stand up to the sort of torque a Turbo car produces. I would say it may be ok on a stocker TT but anything more might just be a waiting game.
