Chris Wilson
Sorry to be a pain, but I have not put my Toyota parts software on this temporary PC due to lack of drive space. Would someone please tell me if the crank sensor trigger wheel on the nose of the crank is the same between VVTi and none VVTi twin turbo 2JZ engines please? If you have the time part numbers for the two banjo bolts at either end of the oil feed pipe from the passenger side of the block to the VVTi control solenoid would also be welcome, as well as the pipe itself, many thanks!! Andy Blyth
Hello Chris, the Crank Trigger Wheels are different on the VVTI and non-VVTI. The non-VVTI has an evenly spaced 12 tooth trigger wheel; the VVTI has a 60-2 tooth wheel. The VVTI oil feed part numbers are shown in the attached picture. Chris Wilson
Glad I checked!! I have never had cause to remove a VVti trigger wheel, and suddenly thought it may be different with the wasted spark set up. I am building Brazil here on the forum a part engine assembly, using a none VVTi block with his original VVTi head and ancillaries. I need to contact him for the correct trigger wheel, and he may as well send the pipe, banjos and check valve, and I'll make a 1/8 NPT to M16 x 1.5 mm adaptor to go in the smaller oil switch port in none VVTi blocks. Many thanks for your trouble, Brazil may have had fun starting it with a 12 tooth trigger wheel Cheers Andy, how's the Adaptronic ECU doing??
