Painting brake discs?

I'm currently overhauling my brakes. Got some Toyota discs and pads en route at the moment.

If I etch prime and hi temp black the entire discs and then fit them, would the paint contaminate the new pads as it's removed from the braking surfaces or would it just burn off??

Going to be impossible to judge where the pads would contact the disc and then mask that exact area.

In other words it's pointless then.

The center bits that rust look poo. So that is worthy of doing. the disk lip itself etc not sure that this would be worth it.

Also adding any substance near the brake system isn't really great imo. I would paint the middles and leave the disk face alone.

I think he means the parts around the hub as those often rust due to the heating and cooling down again. As said before, can't be done with brand new disks as you would never know the area where the pads make contact with the disks. Other than those parts they can easily be painted with some heat resistant paint. Done this myself, no change in braking power whatsoever.
