mestew87
I recently purchased a Pair of brand new UK spec calipers, however in my haste i never checked the part numbers and seem to have ended up with two calipers both embossed with an L on the back of them, can anyone with a set of uk spec calipers check the back of them to see if they are matched to the side of the car L and R, Now i need to see if i can salvage the caliper and get it to fit of sell it on and buy another one
Swampy442
It should be fairly obvious when you offer them up to the car, the bleed nipple should be at the top, but yes, Im pretty sure they are embossed L and R.
Dnk
Yep they need to be Left and Right, both the inner cast aluminium section and the outer steel section have L & R cast into them Basically one is the mirror image of the other Edited March 16, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
mestew87
Ah thats what i thought, so there will be a brand new left supra caliper going up for grabs ha
Dnk
Surely you can take them back and get them to swap one of your left hands for a right hand
mestew87
What im going to do is just buy two right side calipers and offer the forum the second set
Dnk
Be careful as you could lose money doing that unless your getting a very deal on the calipers, also don't forget if you buy direct you get a years warranty on the parts which you won't be able to offer. And you'll have to ad postage which won't be cheap either
