FULL service

Right guys, a bit of advice....

i live up in Scotland (inverness) and have been quoted £512 for giving my Supe a full service (it's an NA by the way).

this will include all fluids, plugs, cambelt change etc but it's only semi-sythetic oil and basically oem parts by the sounds of things.

is this way over-priced or does it sound about right to you?

Yep, that's what I was quoted from the Chichester main dealer... my advice would be find an independent garage that specialise in Toyotas... surely someone on here can recommend somewhere near you?

I ended up paying £280 for the full (B?) service and £140 for the cam belt change.. and they gave me a Toyota service book and stamped it... whatever that's worth?

that's not even a main dealer! that's a guy up here who specialises mainly in scoobies and skylines but will do other jap imports too.

don't really trust anyone else up here with it :help:

i suppose he could be wrong as he didn't actually price up the parts, just said that would be the ball-park figure......

i'll see what he comes back with when i ask for a solid quote....

That sounds about right. B service for me was around 200£ but they didnt bother doing plugs or belt for the 63k mile reason why I got it in there.

So I got the bits separately and will just pay for the labour now.

why dont u do it urself? engine oil, coolant and tranny fluid change is pretty simple. spark plugs are more annoying than the TT cos the TB is in the way but it only took me like 3hrs to do it the 1st time. takes me just over 30mins to change plugs now. cambelt is prob the only tricky one and changing that alone will prob set u back £80 alone with a good independent garage.
