Slam
Well after my car failed the mot on the rear brakes ,I got on with it today. Pistons were in not so good shape I had only just received a seal kit for some other calipers which were prepared for spraying . But ended up using the seal kit to finish brakes for mot. Just a bit of advice , make sure you put the sliders in the right way. The one with the small seal go on the bottom . I made that mistake . Can anyone explain why one has the seal, and the other not. Chris Wilson
It's an anti rattle rubber, and presumably the caliper makers felt one was sufficient. I personally would not use them and if they rattled would put up with the extra freedom of movement and lack of stiction. Sliding calipers need all the help they can get. Likewise I leave out anti squeal shims for a better pedal feel.
Slam
Thanks for that Chris ,I will order again soon. The piston dusk cover was a mind bender but had a blonde moments and the other caliper was plane sailing
Chris Wilson
They can be a right fiddle unless boot and caliper are clean and dry, they want to ping off again!
