Supragal
Monsters. For production cars anyway. Same engine as the new TT or rather the new TT has the same engine as that.
RedM
I let one drive past me three times a few days ago. Then I got bored and went in search of bigger fish.
mikeyb10supra
Surely they would give a standard supe a bit of a run, .2 cc more and half the weight, a modded one should easily beat a supra dont you agree?? :thumbdown
MR.B
Nope. The second turbo coming online eats them alive.
RedM
Dunno. The one I saw was left hand drive so not sure if the specs are the same. It's 250-ish bhp I think. The third time the guy overtook me I did have to boot it some to catch up but managed to get past. ..and all without going over 70. Incredible. michael
I had one do well against me once but he was never going to win A neighbour had one and I absolutely loved the sound it made, quite understated looks too but VERY expensive. RedM
Been having a butchers at this particular car on t'interweb and it's not even out yet so I'm going to have to say that the one I saw may not have been the 3.2 doodha whatsit. Deffo had R32 on the back though cuz I was thanking me lucky one that it wasn't prefixed by Skyline!
heckler
To follow the NEW TT, theres gonna be an R32 Turbo - same engine/DSG transmission as TT around 350bhp Apparently theres gonna be an R34 too
michael
And they are doing a twin charged 1.4 Golf too (Supercharger and Turbo) - puts out something like 140bhp..... what are they on?
afreemason
My mate at work has not long swapped an R32 ...... in standard form its easily a match for my zed mainly because it has the 4motion gubbins as well as a stonking power plant. However it did apparently have a flat spot in the power delivery which was easily corrected with an ecu upgrade. However there is a VW supported super charger available which, although I don't know the figure, would put it into Supra TT territory I guess. Anyway ....... my mate changed the R32 for a .......... touran !!!!!

Actually they weigh almost exactly the same as a TT Supe, 3400 lbs. 0-60 in 6.4s. 240HP with extra 4WD drivetrain losses. Puts them on a par with a slightly modified NA Supe. No match at all for a TT.

Have you seen the HPA Motorsport R32? Twin turbo and 550bhp. Supposed to do 0-60 in 3.2 and low 11's on the 1/4. http://www.hpamotorsports.com/ Anyway ....... my mate changed the R32 for a .......... touran !!!!! Nice choice, I enjoyed mine when the Supra was off the road last year, cupholder paradise!
irfan_habib
I took one of these for a test drive a couple of years ago. It's a nice car, good to drive. Sounded very nice, especially in low revs. Loved the interior, in particular the leather recaro seats.
dane_stone
Had a race with one the othere week. thought I would kick it's ass untill I heard the dump valve on it so I guess it had a turbo. it kept up with me till 100mph then it turned off. Bobbeh
But its a Golf
Vagnum
But its a Golf That's what I say, working for VW I've taken a few out and a few home on test drive's there very over rated, the 4 wheel drives good for pull away but after that , the new golf 5 gti is quick when it's got DSG with padal shift loads of fun to drive
sideshowbob
Have been told by a vw mechanic that a 1.8 20vt will whup an r32, they're too heavy to be quick! A mate has an escort cossie, had a guy in a r32 challenge him to a traffic light gp once, the cossie left him for dead.
