Hassan
Hi im thinking about modifing my stock bonnet. Cutting some vents in to it and then put black mesh under it. Well this is how it looks now... And this is the idea.... I want to copy this. If anyone is good at photoshop, can please give me a idea how it will look, will help alot. Thanks
Dan_Turism0
think it will look a mess imo
Westy
Don't do it
ripped_fear
If you want my opinion it looks crap on the aston let alone the supra lol. Maybe if you painted them they would look a bit better or just add two sets of vents instead of 4.
Poshmalc
Not to mention all of the water that will find its way into the engine bay! Looks great as it is
jazz1
Stock bonnets the best.
Gaz6002
It will look very much like you wish you had an Aston.
j_jza80
The stock bonnet looks the best, fits the best, and isn't really any heavier than carbon bonnets.
Jord
I don't even like that bonnet on the Aston personally.
Thorin
Stock, or UK spec scoop. That bonnet looks horrible even on the Aston.
Hassan
Ok i will leave it stock then. I hate the look off the uk scoop. It looks to DIY. I just wanted some vents to keep the engine bay cool.
j_jza80
Cutting holes in the bonnet may not have the desired impact anyway, aerodynamics is complicated, and why manufacturers use expensive wind tunnels. There are many Supras around running 1000hp+, while still using the stock bonnet with no cooling issues.
Hassan
Ok stock it is then. Thanks guys
The Raven
The other issue is cutting it, to get those in would mean cutting some of the strengthing bars, hence mine are cut inbetween them. A few of us have done that now, take a looky at mine. Edited March 10, 2014 by The Raven (see edit history)
abtin90
I'd leave it how it is. However if your set on an aftermarket vented bonnet I'd go with one of Rob Mitchells DAW Luck bonnets. I think it would suit your car perfectly.
Mk4Gaz
I'm working on a do luck ish style bonnet at the moment, that I'm going to mould if it comes out well. I've only just started it, so there's a lot left to do. I'm hoping it'll look good when done
Hassan
Ive got a doluck sitting in my garage. Which ive just sold. I wanted to keep my oem bonnet. Since aftermarket bonnets never ever fit right.

I just wanted something different.
listy
I have been looking at fitting an aftermarket vent onto the stock bonnet, but for the hassle of it, there isn't anywhere near enough gain.
Luxluc
I would leave it like it is mate.
Kendo11
Yeah personally either leave it as it is, or if you are going to cut it then try to get it cut into a proper Supra aftermarket shape. Do-Luck/TRD etc. The vents on the Aston barely suit the Aston as it is.

The ones rob Mitchell does are done using a stock bonnet so fitment is spot on.
Hassan
Ok ive contacted rob see how it goes. I would like a doluck but moulded on the stock oem bonnet.
Hassan
What about this idea? But with slightly bigger cutouts.
