ghostbuster
It was some time ago (a couple of years) when this was asked before and I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge I can tap into regarding how good (or bad) 'ALLOYGATORS' are, I'm just in the middle of re-furbing my wheels and the last thing I need to do is curb one of them (we all know about sod's law)? Just had a thought, maybe it would be better not to take the Supra anywhere where there are curbs etc?
Digsy
No idea what Alloygators are but I used to buy tyres with a wheel rim protector built in that saved me a good few times when I was a bit careless when parking.

peter richards
mate fitted them to his alloys a fucked them up there are strong ridges on the inside of the strip and it marks the alloys , so pretty much defeats the object
kitch79
never seen those before! You used to be able to get tyres that had a weird over lapping flappy bit, that done something similar. A friend of mine had some. No idea of the brand tho, but won't have been rubbish, it was on a fairly new audi TT DSG in 2009 ish.
rider
Why not just go for tyres with a moulded rim protector ridge?
Dnk
The Bridgestone's on my beema have the built in rim protector, the only trouble is if you do damage to that then the tyre won't pass an mot, if the tyres £100 + its cheaper to get the wheel refurbed than replace the tyre !! tkddav3
I used to have Yokohama tyres with those rim things on them
ghostbuster
Well after speaking with the company I went for it. They arrived in SUPER QUICK time thanks to Jim at Alloygator (a company who do what they say they will do 10 out of 10). Probably the best 'Bolt On' I've ever had to do. I say bolt on as usually when it says that its a pain in the butt! Just follow the instructions and is a walk in the park. I'll try to get a photo or two. maybe tomorrow or Sunday.
