Guest nothertoy
I have a strong battery everything cranks fine!! I don't have a spark on any of the coil packs. The Car was fine then the cranking time increased each time I restarted it, after about 6-9 additional starts I lost spark. Any ideas? The Toyota Stealer doesn't seem very interested in helping he's a parts replacer not a troublshooter. My car is a 93 auto twin turbo I live in the Allentown, PA Area. It would be great if someone could tell me how to trouble shoot this without replacing the crank sensor, ignitor, computer etc. until I find the problem. I have electrical troubleshooting experience I just need to know the component testing procedures.
Jake
Is this on a US spec TT? Do you have access to another Supra you could swap the igniter pack from, just as a test? (I'm no expert on electrical problems but that's where I'd start.) BTW, It's 2.30am here in the UK where most users of this site are based, so don't be expecting a flood of replys! Good luck sorting it out

Ian C
Check you are getting fuel delivery - are the plugs getting wet? Also you can take off the fuel return hose and see if fuel comes out when you crank it. That's the first thing to eliminate as it's pretty easy to check Unplug and re-plug your igniter pack as well, I've known that to solve a non-starting prob before. -Ian
Bobbystone
i had this problem about 2 months ago. well it sounds the same anyway. My car was starting fine everytime then slowly it would take to or three starts to get her going then 4 or five thend upto 15 attempts to start her. After trying everything it was simple. The strter motor had given up its legs as it is only small and the engine is kinda big wouldnt you agree. Got the car straight to my local garage who took out the motor and got it accross town to a guy who recons strters back to new then got it back to the garage who fitted it and its started better than every and always first time. In total only cost £85 smackers. Hope this helps:)
