Eddie-S
Just beenlooking onthe MVP link website. Has anyone got any experience of this? Is It any good? Are MVPs claims true? How does it perform? Loud, quiet? Etc http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/Templates/frmTemplateP.asp?SubFolderID=484&SearchYN=N&CatalogID=7603
Al Massey
It's loud, you pick up mid range and torque. Sounds good, feels good. But this is for a left hand drive, so some modification (hit with a hammer) to fit
Eddie-S
Thanks for that. Not sure I want loud(er) and main reason I've decided not to go na-t but the torque sounds good.

I say louder, I was double decat with one of these so it was loud! But you will get a nice rumble and a good throaty roar.

Nic
The MVP manifold is a copy of the XERD manifold which was designed to fit a LHD US Supra, they foul on the steering column on a RHD Supra. They can be made to fit but would need modifying, see here: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?294624-N-A-decat-rubbing-on-steering-column-safe-to-use&p=3711870&viewfull=1#post3711870 It has screw in O2 sensor bosses - stock O2 sensors have a 2 bolt flange - you'd need to modify the bosses or fit new screw on sensors. It will be loud. Expect hp increases of around 10-12 flywheel hp. Edited February 27, 2014 by Nic (see edit history)
skippyboyo1
Best set up Is this manifold 2.5inch in to a middle box in to a back box. This is what I have. I've also had 2.5inch no middle box in to a back box and out..... Far too loud but I did a 14.3 with that set up at Santa pod which no one seems to have beat yet. The manifold made a massive difference to how free the engine reved
Eddie-S
Thanks for your input everyone, sounds like a lot of faff and noise for the trouble though so I'll give it a miss. Nice time though Skippy! I might see you at Sherburn when the light nights come.
Guest gunness1991
i can confirm fitment of the obx ebay header + dual cat delete on a RHD without modifications. stock cat back, not loud at all with a nice throaty sound. 1994 n/a
Eddie-S
Interesting and a lot cheaper. What difference does it make to power/delivery? I've got an rsr cat back with no additional silencers so it's already a bit throaty.

I've got an rsr cat back with no additional silencers so it's already a bit throaty. I did a before and after dyno with the manifold I use to make and sell it made around 10hp increase but the car was a little down on power to start with so the test was a bit inconclusive. It does feel like the engine revs freer, but they do increase the noise level quite a bit.
Eddie-S
Thanks again Nic. I'll think I'll give the whole idea a miss and stick as I am
scott87
Thanks again Nic. I'll think I'll give the whole idea a miss and stick as I am obx manifold great buy!! Really makes the car feel different. Pick one up second hand as they come up now and again. You wont regret it in my opinion!
Paul-90
I will sell you a obx one already modded to fit.
Eddie-S
It's the extra noise I don't want. It doesn't seem as though the gain is worth it. If I come across someone with one on at a meet and I can see/hear it then I might change my mind.
