Axl
As the title suggests I'm thinking of making a vented bonnet for my supra now my question is to anyone that has done this what are your experiences with them? Ie is water getting in the engine bay an issue? And if so how did you sort it ? What's the best way of fixing the grills in place ? Any advice would be most appreciated thanks
Steve Paine
I have a vented bonnet and much as I like it you can say goodbye to shiny bits under your bonnet. Mine lets water flow in over power steering fluid reservoir, battery, alternator and does all sorts of other stuff. I keep thinking of putting together a drainage system, but every solution I come up with stops the object of venting the bonnet ie releasing heat from the engine bay! I did start having bits shiny like cam covers and other bits but in light of the water ingress have given up on that idea as I really can't be ar*ed to dry the engine bay down every time it gets wet

thomo8568
I've cut vents in my bonnet and put some alloy sheet under, still room for air to get out. Not noticed anything bad. My engine is painted black though. I'm NA also. Think it just depends where you put the vents.
