Ian C Posted February 26, 2014 Share Posted February 26, 2014 It's ticking at about 400 times a minute, which is half your warm idle speed of 800rpm, so it'll be the top end. Either a sticking valve or some oil starvation to part of the valvetrain. The way it suddenly completely goes away might indicate it's lack of oil. edit - odd that it doesn't do it on cold start though. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bignum Posted February 26, 2014 Share Posted February 26, 2014 The warmer the oil/engine is the lower your oil pressure will be, as ian said sounds like a sticky valve, what oil are you using btw and do you have an oil pressure gauge fitted?
