Havard
Welcome. Why does everyone these days want a Uk spec TT?
The Raven
My guess is insurance is cheaper. Sad fact is they are going to pay 9k for a uk spec and 5k for a jspec saving 4k on the car alone out weights the insurance cost for 4 years. Guest kubzi
Budget to start off with will be 5k, has to be TT. I know manual will be well outside my budget I'm wanting UK spec because its more powerful as standard (326bhp i think) and insurance will be cheaper. But guys i need your advice the above apart from it being TT is not set in stone. I'm 25 so would be looking at classic car insurance, and don't really know if a jspec is harder to insure or if its just expensive (if so by how much). Any advice will be much appreciated

Guest Budz86
Both have the same power, roughly 326 hp in stock form. There was a gentleman's agreement between the big Japanese manufacturers which they then all ignored, and reduced the power figures for the sales brochure
Guest kubzi
Thanks guys! So as standard they have in fact the same bhp. And the speed limiter, Is that easily removed? This is why i joined this place. So you guys think for 5k i can become a better, cooler and privileged human being? When I was 25 the insurance difference between a JSpec & UK was about £200. How much was your full insurance? Classic car insurance? Thanks again for your responses!
Twisted
Can you actually get classic insurance on these now?

I think it was said somewhere in the insurance section by Sky insurance, that the car be near or totally standard.
Jord
Welcome to the forum. You'd be lucky to find a UK spec for £5k due to them being a bit rarer and most of them being exported to France etc. However there are plenty of stunning jspecs around for that money. You'll need to double check about classic insurance. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, I've been told you'll have a limit on the amount of miles you can do a year and possibly be limited to weekends. I'm 25 with a UK spec supra and the insurance is really affordable, without it being classic.
