kitch79
So a while back I bought a reg plate surround from Germany, unfortunately it wouldn't fill the hole behind the plate on a J-Spec! So I set about enlarging it to fit over the hole while still allowing me 2 lines on the plate. Bit of a PITA if I'm honest. Had to cut it 4 times, cut off the tabs then use fibre glass and matting to fill In the gaps. Then spray it once happy. A new plate was ordered as the JM supplied one didn't fill inside, along with and some brake caliper decals to replace the silver one in above pic. After I'd fitted it to the car, a set of plate 'pods' came up on here which I've bought ... So with a bit of google and editing, I came up with this I think it looks great with the 'pods' IMO. What I've bought are sprayed 199 silver, so thinking of having them carbon dipped rather than sprayed black. Anyhoo... I'm happy, it's been a very productive week, even built a supra from scratch Edited February 21, 2014 by kitch79 (see edit history)
DaveR
Very smart. I'm not a huge fan of the 'pods' to be honest, but the surround is very cool. Loving the week-long project too.
Graham1984
I quite like the pods, I really need to get off my backside and get more numberplates, the hole is visible on the bottom of mine too which cheeses me off.
kitch79
I wasn't a fan of them at first, but I seen some on a white supra from a bluewater meet thread, and thought they looked good. I might get them and think otherwise tho ha.
