How to get to the crank position sprocket star?

Is there a how to??

Still new to this engine. I reckon it has slipped. Car won't start has no spark. Been doing a lot of googling the last couple of days and just found something that has confirmed one of my suspicions. A little rattle noise I noticed the other day that I belive to be the washer that sits crank timing sprocket??

What's the best way to get to it what needs to come off so I can get to it. Take it off and get it welded?

Cheers

Tommy

If it is loose the ECU will almost certainly flag a fault code as it will still be seeing sensible cam position sensor readings. I see it has an alarm. I would, if it were my job to sort this, suspect add ons after the car was built, as a first step. Personally I won't have a car myself with an aftermarket alarm, they give a load of hassle. See where it's been spliced into the original loom on the ignition side and bypass the thing. I honestly think, unless you put zero value on your own time, it would be much more cost effective to have a pro look at it, and diagnose things in a more scientific manner.

Ok the car has started!

Disconnected the battery for an hour or so (had already tried to reset the ecu the other day by removing the fuse)

Rolled the car back a couple of feet. Also disconnected and reconnected the plugs under the auto gear selector just in case maybe it wasn't getting a good signal to say its in park.

Reconnected the batt and it fired up :s
