Dnk
Whats on them ? Phosphoric acid dip, same process used on aluminium alloy wheels, media blasting wouldn't hurt them, i did this throttle body and it came up like new.

jim
Overnight soak in coke? Worked well on the bolts from my split rims, could be worth a go.
Jellybean
Thanks guys, Just got them acid dipped and are now in fresh coke for the night Not too sure if it's enough, to get a good anodised finish, some marks are in the metal
clay
What about polishing them with aotosol before they are anodised. Would that give them a better finish. ?

Just dropped them off today, wire brushed them with a dremel and polished them with Autosol, here they are side by side; I didn't bother doing the rear or the disc as they wont be seen, a lot of work to polish them Also Polished the Bolts
jim
Been thinking about getting some bits anodised but haven't looked into it properly yet...do the bits need to be polished before anodising to get a good finish?
Jellybean
Not too sure Jim , ideally you want the aluminium as fresh as possible for the best finish The rear face of the bell housing wasn't polished so will post up pics , some pitting on mine but they are on the car at least 7 years Wasn't too sure if I was wasting my time polishing them but the shop anodising them said the better the prep, the better the finish Will see, hopefully have them back by Friday - - - Updated - - - Not too sure Jim , ideally you want the aluminium as fresh as possible for the best finish The rear face of the bell housing wasn't polished so will post up pics , some pitting on mine but they are on the car at least 7 years Wasn't too sure if I was wasting my time polishing them but the shop anodising them said the better the prep, the better the finish Will see, hopefully have them back by Friday
