Upper control arm bushes?

Couple of questions with this:

1. Is this a genuine toyota rear upper control arm?

2. Is there supposed to be any play in the 2 bushes? The only reason I ask is that these arms look as though they've been replaced recently, are very light and almost feel cheap...so are the bushes just shot because they're cheap or is there an amount of give/movement built in?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

They look pretty much Oem to me, even down to the sticky black stuff on the ball joint. Someone's painted them though as it would have come in bare aluminium when new. The bushes in it are spherical bearings so should pivot a little side to side about the centre point but if you hold each end of the tube not move in and out whilst staying parallel to the casing. I've never come across anyone making cheap copies of these

Perfect! I had a feeling they were spherical bearings, they rotate around the centre as you say, much too smoothly to be buggered bushes. Cheers lad
