theredone
Is the auto intake manifold same as the manual intake mani for the na?? And do they both work the same on each? - - - Updated - - - Throttle body aswell?
Guest Roger NE
I believe the Throttle Body on an Auto has an extra cable pulley for the Kickdown Cable . . But other than that I'm pretty sure everything is the same. Why?
scott87
I think it is there on the na too. Just doesn't have a cable?
Guest Roger NE
My NA only has 2 pulleys (which is from a Manual car) . . . which I presume is 1 for the Accelerator Pedal, and one for the Cruise Control . . . presumably the Autos need an extra one for the Auto Kickdown? I'm only presuming, as I only use 1 for the Accelerator, as the engine's in my Mk3 Supra, where all the extra cables are under the dash connected to the pedal, not the throttle body (which seems much simpler . . . and tidier!) scott87
Did the na come with cruise control?

Fly
My man mkiv has twin pulleys also, but no cruise. Only one pulley is used don't see why they would be that different to be honest
Guest Roger NE
Oh I didn't realise that some Mk4s DON'T have Cruise Control . . . all Mk3s do, so I presumed they were the same. So theredone - did you get your engine running OK? You never replied to the other thread where you asked for help and were offered advice to help diagnose the problem . . . theredone
Ive started changing it back to the auto loom mate to see if that cures it.
Guest Roger NE
Can't see that working, if you now have a Manual gearbox ! LOADS of things are different on an Automatic, and that will make it worse . . . at least with the Manual Loom and ECU you are 95% of the way there (the only issue is the fact that the CAR was an Auto, so a couple of the Body connections will be wrong) Don't understand why you didn't do the checks I suggested . . . it's like you ask for help, but don't want to listen to it when given
theredone
Ive spoken to dude on the forum and he said hes only used auto loom when converting to manual and spliced the neutral starter wire and reverse lights and i dont even know if the manual loom is faulty, ive check all the realys and they are fine, and i know my auto loom is okay as it was on before, so thats the reason as why its going back on.
