JamieP
Can somebody with a facelift TT6 upload a picture of the speedo cluster for me please. Thanks Jamie.

JamieP
Perfect, so that's turbo pressure at the top, Is that 1 bar? I was just looking at my NA clocks, I have the volt gauge there, I was thinking I could put a black 52mm boost gauge there instead, I want to keep it looking OEM but with the only addition of a decent boost gauge. kitch79
I wonder why that pic is called "don't try this" :-)

I've often thought about this too, if you could get it to fit behind the dash panel it would look fantastic (especially if the illumination matches the others.) Hassan
I wonder why that pic is called "don't try this" :-) Maybe because he is doing over 150mph

Would be close I think, the hole is about 50mm, I will get it apart for a look when I get time.
j_jza80
The issue will be the 'dash pod', that contains the gauges and sits behind the dash panel. It's all one peice, and removing part of it may prove to be impossible.
JamieP
Ahh I see, don't really want to lose the clock.
j_jza80
Did you think the 'triple gauge cluster' (volt, temp, fuel on an NA) were individual gauges?
JamieP
I've never pulled a facelift dash apart before, I'm still going to look at it, I might be able to get one in there, even if it's flush with the front that's fine.
j_jza80
Without removing part of the Gauge pod/cluster, there won't be room. To be fair, it's been a few years since I last looked at one, but I'm pretty certain. Unless you can get something digital?
listy
Could you not pull them all out and replace them with slim line aftermarket gauges? I know one of them is fuel, but you must be able to get an aftermarket fuel gauge surely?

listy
Ah I see.....I thought there may have been a way to just replace those gauges. Evdently not Doesn't look good JP
wile e coyote
Yes as above your not going to be able to do it would have to be clock or vent im afraid unless you get a tt cluster
Ian C
The boost gauge is also fairly pointless, it kinda registers positive boost at a very low amount and that's about it.
Littler
Not sure if they do a facelift version but you could go the phr route?
j_jza80
Ah I see.....I thought there may have been a way to just replace those gauges. Evdently not Doesn't look good JP I don't know, removing the lens and needle from the stock boost gauge may create enough room to fit a small, shallow digital boost gauge. I personally prefer analogue boost gauges myself though. Also, someone could test what happens when the cable ribbons are removed that connect the various gauges to the pcb. If that works, it may be possible to cut the boost/voltage gauge from the stock instruments.

Abz
Jamie I have been looking into doing something similar with mine, not sure if a boost gauge would fit but have seen an oil pressure/temp gauge in there. I'll be looking further into soon.
j_jza80
It looks as if the bezel could be cut down at the back too, creating approx. 25mm.
JamieP
That looks good Abz, I don't want a digital screen though, Boost gauge is the only gauge I want, Syvecs can look after everything else. I think I will just put one in place of the clock, I've got a watch after all.
Nic
Perhaps you could mount a digital boost gauge in there? This one is made to replace the stock boost gauge in an MR2, it's made by US company VEI Systems http://www.veisystems.com/products/ http://www.emspowered.com/storefront/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=61_62_64_74_75&products_id=
JamieP
I just want it looking stock Nic, it don't want a digital display.
