What's the best

Few good options. I'd look at high end Michelin.

Would you say Michelin are better than conties

As Havard says, it really depends.

I would say yes, but I wouldn't have any qualms whatsoever with putting continentals on my car. They have good grip and work very well in just about every condition. However, if you took out a set of PS2's vs a set of continentals on a track then there would only be one winner IMO.

For high end usage with all-weather stability you're really looking at michelin and pirelli.

265, 275 or 285 max really on a 10" rim, at the sacrifice of keeping

a similar wheel diameter to stock i'd go up in profile to give you more

flex in the tyre which in turn should give you more grip.

If you use a 285 40 instead of 295 35 you will have 10.5 mm more sidewall height

or 21 mm more overall diameter

My answer is a combo of previous answers.

Summer: Michelin Pilot Sport @ 32psi. Winter: Pirelli Sottozero @ 28psi.

On 18" 10J rear wheels 285 40.

I run a 4.083:1 diff to achieve the required final ratio and the higher sidewalls give better traction and a better ride.

On 18" 8.5J front wheels 235 45.

Give the best ride, best handling and least tramlining.
