Supraleeturbo
What's the best tyre on the market today My rears are 295/35/18 Fronts are 245/40/18 I'm looking for grip big time :-)
tony tt
R888 for dry weather grip. Not sure about the best on the market as it's all down to personal choice really.
Scott
Few good options. I'd look at high end Michelin.
Rob W
My Michelin PS2's 295/35/18 have been the best so far and I've been through quite a few different brands. They also have lasted the most milage.

Havard
Would you say Michelin are better than conties You are at a level where it really is difficult to tell IMO. I prefer the Continentals, only as I have them on the Volvo and the grip is excellent in all weathers.
Scott
Few good options. I'd look at high end Michelin. Would you say Michelin are better than conties As Havard says, it really depends. I would say yes, but I wouldn't have any qualms whatsoever with putting continentals on my car. They have good grip and work very well in just about every condition. However, if you took out a set of PS2's vs a set of continentals on a track then there would only be one winner IMO. For high end usage with all-weather stability you're really looking at michelin and pirelli.

2soops
Michelin Pilot Super Sports are way better than PS2's too, and they are excellent as mentioned above
Andrew K
I've always run Goodyear eagle F1's and found them to be a good tyre all round.
Lee P
Michelin pilot super sports for the best all round tyre R888 on the rear if you won't be driving in the rain much but clearly in the uk at the moment that's hard lol

Scott
I would have recommended the super sports but I couldn't find them in the mentioned sizes
JamieP
295 is a bit wide for a 10" wheel, and I'm betting a 275 MPSS will grip better than most other 295's anyhow.
steve.m
Only 205 wide in 17". Might be a little stretched on a 11.5" rim.

Dnk
265, 275 or 285 max really on a 10" rim, at the sacrifice of keeping a similar wheel diameter to stock i'd go up in profile to give you more flex in the tyre which in turn should give you more grip. If you use a 285 40 instead of 295 35 you will have 10.5 mm more sidewall height or 21 mm more overall diameter Edited February 2, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)

David P
My answer is a combo of previous answers. Summer: Michelin Pilot Sport @ 32psi. Winter: Pirelli Sottozero @ 28psi. On 18" 10J rear wheels 285 40. I run a 4.083:1 diff to achieve the required final ratio and the higher sidewalls give better traction and a better ride. On 18" 8.5J front wheels 235 45. Give the best ride, best handling and least tramlining.
