Kendo11
Evening all, I want to replace my throttle body and Y branch for some polished items I recently bought from a member. Will I definitely need to replace the gasket in between? What part number is it? Also, is it just a case of take the fitted bits out, and replace everything as before, or do I need to do any recalibrating etc? Cheers. David P
The gasket you have will be fine, just the throttle position sensor to "calibrate".
Swampy442
Shall I add it to the list?
Kendo11
OK I'll have a look tomorrow on how to set it to calibrate, presumably it's pretty obvious? It may well be going on the list Craig! Doing these sort of jobs were a piece of piss on an MR2!
David P
You need a multimeter to set it in the correct position. Details are in the EFI section WSM.
Kendo11
Cheers David. If I replace just the y branch for now I'm assuming that part is just literally a straight swap?
Swampy442
Its pretty easy mate, the y pipe itself is just a few bolts.
Kendo11
Nice one I'll get that sorted then and save the body for you
David P
The TPS doesn't need to be connected to ECU for positioning, which means you can have it pre-set ready for a plug & play fit.
