Drgray
I took the car around the block, took me less than 5 minutes. I got back and parked up and then the car started idling really low and the engine noise was "blipping" (only way i can sort of describe it)
Gpro
Is the AFR gauge correct? because that is extremely lean!
Drgray
I'm not sure, it did go down further after i stopped the video but I didn't want the engine engine running too long in case it made it worse. It dropped to 16 before i got out of the car about 30 seconds later
Gpro
it should be around 14. Is it a stock tt? stock ecu?
Drgray
its an na-tt. bpu upgrades: smic, panel air filter, boost controller etc - - - Updated - - - il go out again and get a longer video and film it the correct way this time
Gpro
usually if the car ain't idling properly means the idle control valve needs cleaning. but in you case from how lean your running could cause similar effects. (Possibly fuel pump?) Also if you can try record your afr when you are driving around. if your afr are still very high take it home and don't drive it till you sort the problem. If you run that lean on wot you could possibly blow the engine
Drgray
Just uploading another video now, i got back in and it wasn't as bad. The afr was high at first but went down after a while. I literally have only driven the car 3 times.. This is just a little bit annoying
Drgray
ok so the other video i uploaded ended up being upside down for most of it lol!! [video=youtube;eVPnFzfjX-Y] If you can handle the epic upside down coolness then watch away
Gpro
15 afr ain't bad on idle. But what are your afr when driving and on boost? Car sounds alride
David P
It could be a dodgy coolant temp sensor.
Drgray
So any idea what was happening in my first video? The rpm dropped to 600 (or there about) and the engine was "blipping". That second video was done about 5 minutes later, again the afr was lean for a while then after revving it seemed to drop down. I don't particularly want to drive around the block again as I'm not really supposed to until the new reg comes back in 2 weeks. I could drive it back around the road for like 1 minute which means I have far less chance of being stopped. I will get back with a vid when I put it under boost although I need to figure where to get the camera set as I don't want to go sideways into another car lol. Guest Budz86
Could be plugs or coil packs. When was she last serviced?
Drgray
Ok just taken 2 videos, one where I drive it just around the road out front, couldnt get fast enough to go second turbo but first one spooled. I will post that in a minute. Then after about 1 minute from when i stopped recording the rpm dropped again to about 600 and the blipping was happening. I have taken another video so will upload that after this one is done. I'm not sure when it was last serviced but I plan on getting it done when its legal to drive, il take it somewhere like jm imports to get done. I hope if there is a problem its only something like the spark plugs
Drgray
Ok got the vids again uploaded so they are as follows: driving Idling after *going to reupload the driving one as you cant see $**t on the gauge at that quality Edited February 1, 2014 by Drgray (see edit history)
Drgray
Ok uploaded a much better quality driving one same vid just higher quality. idling dodgy vid again in higher quality Anyone got any idea? tony tt
My car does this when it's been raining for a few days. Same low iratic idle but my AFR gauge doesn't register anything. After a drive for a few minutes it seems to idle fine again with AFR around 14 to 15. It's a weird one. Plug guide will be in the frequently asked questions bud. That's symptomatic of an UEGO sensor mounted below centreline and can't drain condensation?
tony tt
That's symptomatic of an UEGO sensor mounted below centreline and can't drain condensation? O2 sensor? Changed that already recently. Cheers anyway David. Edited February 1, 2014 by tony tt (see edit history)

Drgray
So could that be possibly the same situation on mine? I guess I will see what happens when I get new spark plugs and have it serviced. Could it also possibly be the idle control valve needs a cleaning up? trinitom
i have responded the op by pm, but as i have asked this before and i have been told that's normal and it's just the ECU adjusting the fuel delivery.
