Fly
In thd middle of fitting the arp studs and nuts for the cylinder head. The instructions say to install the head studs finger tight. It then talks of fitting the head back on and then putting the nuts on etc and torquing them to a value. My question is do you ever tighten the studs more than just finger tight as it's not mentioned in the instructions? Obviously the head will be pulled down by torquing the bolts but the studs just bring hand tight seems strange. Thdnks
Fly
Anyone? Would like to get this done tomorrow. Can't find any info on the studs themselves
Lee P
No just finger tight but I usually tweak them with a racket then back them off once just to make sure they are seated all the way down. Put the washers in the head first as you can't get them past the studs.
Fly
Thanks lee . I chased out the threads first to ensure dirt free it just seemed odd to not tighten then more than finger tight. Yup found that out, I removed the studs with the head still fitted installed the washer then reinstalled the stud
