Guest hoylegj
Hi, anyone had problems with the aerial causing flat battery's?, the aerial has stopped going down and there seems to be a constant current draw of 3 amps ish, (shown by the battery charger) Many thanks Geoff
Coleboy
How can a battery charger show a drain, only a muti meter connected in line can show a drain, the 3 amps shown on the charger is what it putting in.......... Have you disconnected the mast??
Guest Roger NE
Do you mean your Battery Charger is showing that it is delivering 3 Amps when connected to your battery? Just because the battery is taking 3A from the charger DOESN'T mean something on the car is drawing 3A from the battery. In answer to your question about the aerial, I think it's wired AFTER your ignition switch. However, to discover what the current drain on your battery is with everything off, you need to disconnect one of your battery terminals and connect a Multimeter (on a Current range) inbetween to measure the current. I presume you have some kind of Alarm/Immobilser that will be taking SOME current . . . see what figure you get. EDIT: Sorry, Coleboy's post was while I was writing this one!
