Marcus GTE
I thought I'd share a repair I did to a loose headlight washer that's been annoying me for ages. It was lazily stuck into place using double sided tape. And was hanging to one side. Changing to new headlights to replace my old corroded ones gave an opertunity to see what the problem was. There are two 10mm bolts holding it in place, one was missing for some reason. They are tricky to reach because you can see them. Happy with the result. I don't know if its just UK spec engine bays but getting access to the near side headlight bolts was tricky because of this guy on the right The bolt on the right slips off the bracket without having to come all the way out and I had to bend the bracket down slightly to get access to the corner bolts Before After
Jord
Nice job. I always think the headlights are one of the things that can make the car look really dated until refurbed. Planning to get mine done at some point as the chrome is peeled. Also got a loose dildo on the front of mine that needs doing. So this is useful! How odd! lol I do worry that anyone walking past the front of the car could knock them as they don't seem very robust.
Guigsy
Yeah they come loose over time or bracket that's there too gets bent. I didn't have that box behind your light. Not sure what that is
Robert
I think the box behind the light is to do with the alarm iirrc
Kev.O
The black box is the sounder for the alarm and if you remove the rubber cover there is an over ride switch to disable the sounder. Nice write up.
Marcus GTE
Cheers guys, glad it might help at least 1 person have a go themselves. I think the way they protrude they must get bumped by people and cars trying to park all the time. Black box- I think it is to do with the alarm as suggested. It made access to the lights a pain. Thanks T- the gloves make me feel surgical with the spanners lol.
