A lot of people sell secondhand ECUs WITH the engine (I recently bought both together) . . . but there must still be some about from scrapped cars

I'd post a Wanted ad on here, I'm sure someone must have one

Manual or auto?

If manual, you haven't looked very hard.

If auto.

I've a good N/A auto ECU that's destined to be dismantled for the connector, but I'd swap it for the one above if it helps?

Hello Dave, sorry forgot to mention its an auto, does the one ECU you have match my part numbers? 89661 - 14600? its a 40p 40p 40p connector? other number is 175700 - 4762 Denso

i'd buy the one above and swap it with you if that's the case :)

unfortunately i cant post in the wanted section Roger? i think its because i'm new to the forum?

Thanks for the number Tony, i cant reply to PM's either.

i didnt know there was different levels of membership Scott. i will look in to it. do you want to sell your ecu? maybe pm a number so i can call

There aren't different levels of membership, the Club lets you have 30 odd bites of the cherry before you pay your tenner like the rest of us.

Without a measly tenner that quite clearly would be well spent, the cherry you have is without a stone. (no access to for sale and wanted)

By default, my offer to help is actually an infringement, which if you haven't noticed, hasn't passed unnoticed.

The ECU I have is promised to a friend, (another Club member) who needs merely the connector-block, he wouldn't mind waiting a few days more and the manual ECU would be as useful to him as mine.

Promptly after your first post request I offered to help because that's the way I am, but you'd gone.

Now you've returned and openly announced that you think private messages are actually private.

In forum kind of way, in 3 posts you've perverted my generosity into fear of infringement(s).

Some folks are difficult to help, Scott gave the correct answer.

It's only £10 to become a member

Edit: Come to think of it, if you have a dead one, that would be just as good for him?

I wasn't having a dig at you Mr P :)

I wasn't having a dig at you either Mr C :)

I was having a dig at myself for risking wrath by offering to help.

Trying to rescue a perfectly good Supra ECU, a lowly N/A auto jobby, (original ECU from the the now infamous Supercharged Supra) from being killed for it's socket is my defence. :innocent:

Edit: You sneaked your post (#7) in whilst I was writing mine.

sorry i didn't mean to break the forum rules.

The ecu is dead, it looks like a capacitor and resistor have burnt out on the circuit board. i'm not sure its repairable as the board looks burnt. so looks like i'm on the hunt for another. the ecu is no use to me David you are welcome to it. is there a link to pay up via paypal?

That ECU has been on Death Row in the back of my Supra for the past couple of weeks waiting for next path crossing with Turtle, who wanted to rob it's socket and kill it to death. :(

An eleventh hour reprieve with a donor socket from barnes's dead unit and my trusty old N/A auto ECU now has a new life to live. :)

The Club gets a new member, barnes gets his Supra mended, Turtle gets the socket for his Supra and I get a pint for saving it's life. :friday:

And they all lived happily ever after. :D

Well done David !

Just bear in mind Barnes that it's likely to be something EXTERNAL that damaged your ECU . . .

Have you or anyone been playing with the car's electrics at all?

If the fault is still there (like a short circuit in the wiring) you will fry the new ECU too !
