Pulley Posted January 19, 2014 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Ok, so after searching for help with my issues of being able to unlock but not lock the central locking, and simply finding others who've had same issues but no clear solution other than (it's the central locking module) I took mine apart and found a section of the printed circuit board that's almost burnt thru And a failed component I need help identifying the component that has an "E" on the side and looks to me like a diode And the section of circuit that's burnt is the kind that's often designed as a sacrificial section (looks like an s) Check the pics So glad I've found the problem, and I think the reason is the load on the circuit when locking is higher when the locks are wintery cold and stiff, and the failed component has a crack in it, and it makes it intermittent Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
